MoAD will celebrate the national observance of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday as a Day of Service, providing FREE admission to the museum and programs throughout the day. We will be back in-person at MoAD for the first time since 2020.

Through film, art, music and dance, our special guests will help us reflect on the importance of protest and diverse communities. Dimensions Dance Company presents dance from the diaspora, MoAD's monthly Art As We See It presents a special MLK day program, and a screening of FOR LOVE AND LEGACY, a film documenting the creation of a recent memorial to Huey Newton. A family art activity and gallery scavenger hunt connects families to our spring exhibition, The New Black Vanguard: Photography Between Art and Fashion. Come together to celebrate the life and achievements of one of our nation's greatest heroes. FREE ADMISSION

This is an in-person day of events at MoAD. Masks are required throughout the museum.
