Please join MoAD to celebrate the opening of our fall 2024 exhibitions. The reception will begin at 7pm and give members a first preview.
Curated by Key Jo Lee, Liberatory Living: Protective Interiors & Radical Black Joy, features designs, artworks and environments dedicated to the global necessity for Black people to cultivate domestic interiors not only as spaces of revolutionary action, but also of radical joy and revolutionary rest.
Helina Metaferia's installation, What We Carry To Set Ourselves Free, is an extension of the artist's ongoing By Way of Revolution series, which foregrounds the often-overlooked labor of BIPOC women and gender-marginalized people within activist histories, and their continued contributions within today's social justice movements.
Unveiling Histories: A Fabricated Archive, is the fourth exhibition for the 2024 Emerging Artist Program, featuring work by Jessica Monette.
